Greenore Golf Club situated in the picturesque Cooley Peninsula in North Co. Louth, Ireland,at the foot of Slieve Foy Mountain and on the shores of Carlingford Lough was founded in 1896.

In 1899 the course was extended from Nine (9) to Eighteen (18) holes and a Pavilion type
clubhouse, which served the members for many years, was erected in 1900.
Many notable golfers, including the famous triumvirate of Harry Vardon, James Braid
and J.H.Taylor, played this hallowed course, as did Walter Hagen and the Australian
Joe Kirkwood.

Over the years many improvements have been made to the course including the
of Three- (3) new holes (known to members as the "country" holes).
One of these, the sixth, a par three, played from an elevated tee, fronted by water and
backed up by sand bunkers, provides a stern test of skill and demands a steady nerve.

In 1994 , a fabulous new Clubhouse was opened.
