Glendalough is located in county Wicklow. The name is derived from the gaelic Gleann Dá Loch, meaning “glen of two lakes”. There is a monastery founded by St Kevin in the 6th century and the church and ruins are still there to explore.

There are also beautiful walks around the largest lough. Glendalough is part of the Wicklow Mountains National Park and is well worth a visit no matter what time of year.
