Knocknarea is visible for miles in any direction five different counties can seen from its summit. On the top of the hill is Queen Maebh’s Cairn.

It is roughly 35 feet high and holds 40,000 tons of loose stones.

Queen Maebh is best known for her part in Ireland’s most famous saga, The Cattle Raid of Cooley.
