It is divided here into nine sections each representing a half days walking.
The trail both starts and ends in Ballygar.
Along the various routes are some delightful sights from scenery to heritage and monastic sites to stop and explore.
The first stage gets you from Ballgar to Creggs, about 4.5 km road, 7.5 km track, 3 km river bank/field.
The road is mainly quiet but Ballygar to Creggs road can be busy; start of descent to river bank sometimes wet; river bank gives easy walking on flat terrain.
This section starts along the Creggs road out of the village but soon enters the woods which were part of the demesne of Aughane Castle.
Features of note include ecclesiastical remains, a Ringfort, the Barrow, a Mansion and an Earthwork.
The Suck Valley leads on to then Ballymoe and then to Castlerea where it starts back towards Ballintober, Castlecoole and Athleague and ending in Ballygar.
