The Dingle Peninsula in particular is blessed with wonderful beaches and none more so than Inch Strand which has a glorious three mile stretch of fine sandy beach.
This is a wonderful beach for walking and bathing.
The location is also quite good for surfers.
Fans of the movies might feel a sense of deja vu as they walk along the beach.
The film ‘Playboy of the Western World’ was shot entirely at Inch Strand as was scenes from the film ‘Ryans Daughter’.
If the The Quiet Man made Connemara famous then Ryans Daughter made Dingle and Inch equally well known.
Inch is situated on the south of the Dingle Peninsula and the drive along the ocean is quite breathtaking.
Do stop at Anascaul, the nearest village to Inch and whet your thirst in this beautiful place before travelling onto Dingle.
