Rosserk Friary , County Mayo

 

Rosserk Friary was founded in 1441 for the Franciscans of the Third Order. The Third Order was established for lay people and was less strict than that of other Orders. Rosserk Friary is modest and simple, though the church has a finely carved west doorway, east window and window in the south transept.
