Croagh Patrick , County Mayo

The 765 meter peak of Croagh Patrick to the west of Westport is where St Patrick is said to have banished the snakes from Ireland. The panoramic views from the top on a clear day are stunning. On the last Sunday of July, hundreds of pilgrims, set out to scale the mountain on barefoot .
