About me
I am a Criminal Justice educator after retiring from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Miami, FL. I am enjoying tracing my Irish roots and am currently a member of the Lancaster Irish-American Cultural Society, Lancaster, PA. My Irish ancestor, John Gormly, emigrated in the late 1700's and was a Justice of the Peace in Strasburg, PA. I have his proclamation from the governor dated 1803 appointing him to this position. The governor at that time was also an Irish emigrant.
