About me
I was born in Corry, PA of fifth generation Scot/Irish parents. My great, great, great, great grandfather Daniel McElroy was born in Derry in 1820 and sailed from Sligo in July 1845 for Montreal with his wife and six month old son. They settled in Albion thirty miles Northwest of Toronto. I never knew anything about them until I started some research for my next novel "BIRTH QUEST" which features the main character's search for his Scot/Irish ancestry and a family secret hidden in a Knights Templar cache in the ruins of a castle in Scotland. I went back to my roots last summer, found the graves of my great, great, great grandparents. I rested my head on the tall, marble obelisk thankful that I foud them and heard a deep Irish brogue in my brain. "Paul, now that you found us find all of our children and bring them to us." I have since located all nine of Daniel and Elizabeth McElroy children (some died shortly after birth)in various census records and have prepared a family tree. I am returning to Corry, PA next week (October 12) with a copy of that family tree sealed in a plastic baggie which I am going inter alongside the family obelisk. It completes my task.
