MySifara, your hubby looks like a big lad - I'm not surprised you would require King-size beds!

A week is not very long in Ireland and much depends on the area you plan to visit. However, here are some links I hope you will find useful:

To convert Euros to Dollars: Universal Currency Converter.

Official web site for Failte Ireland:

There is a lot of information on this site. Click on the Accommodation tab for more details of where to stay.

Hello to all,

I am the family travel planner and we are finally planning a trip to Ireland next year. How difficult is it to find accomodations with king sized beds?

Clifden is often described as the "Capitol of Connemmara" and what you will find in Connemmara is not just a lot of rock and sheep (also bogland, lakes, forests and the Twelve Pins) you will also find Marble. Guess what Galway Cathedral is built from!

Just outside Clifden off the R341 turning right just before Ballinaboy and following Clifden Bay, you will find the monument to Alcock and Brown, the intrepid duo who were the first to fly across the Atlantic. They landed on bogland not far from Ballinaboy.

I took off work 2 wks last yr to visit my daughter who was living in Dublin then. We took at 6 day road trip south, through Ring of Kerry, up to Galway and over to Aran Island. She did all of the driving in 5 days and we stayed at clean, safe hostels along the way. Then we took a day to drive north to Giants Causeway and over east. Loved the drive. But in Dublin, we rode the bus into town daily. The hop-on-off tour was safe for me traveling alone one day. I loved the entire trip and wish to go back to visit again before I get too old to enjoy hiking.

Now there's a thing... Anyone every hear of "Robin Hood Airport"?

I kiddeth thee not! Tis outside Doncaster and was opened in 2005...

Problem is, according to local authorities - no one knows that it exists!!!

Well a few more do now...

:)
