I've recently published a new art book called "Tea 'n Turps" (details can be found on http://TeaNTurps.blogspot.com)
The book features 12 of the more than 100 artists I've interviewed and I'm always on the look-out for more artists to interview. You just need to send me an email and I'll send you the Terms of Interview by return. Oh yes, forgot to mention that I've been profiling artists in a monthly column in the "Galway Now", "Limerick Now" and "Cork Now" magazines since January 2005.
I've started this group hoping to create a strong presence of artists on this site - especially those artists with interesting philosophies and with different techniques to chat about.
It will be good to hear from you .....

Hello Everyone,
Chuck Callahan Here from Parker Colorado USA. I am looking for someone who does traditional Irish Art who would like to join me on a joint venture. I have a card company in the USA and am starting a private collection of St. Patrick's Day and Irish greeting Cards. If you are interested please get a hold of me. I will be more than happy to split all the profits with you and give you all the artistic credits you deserve.

If I could get a large group of people interested in our company I may be able to share it in Ireland. It is a wonderful system and easy. Please contact me at
postmaster@callahanenterprizes.com , if you are interested.

Good Morning, It is great to have other artist to chat with and learn from. I have only been painting (oil) for about three years and I love it. Most of my life I have been into some sort of creative mode, I did ceramics for a long time and for 10 years had a craft business, ceramics, flower arrangements, wreaths and gift baskets. I also made jewelry, but painting was always in my heart and God provided a way for me to learn. One mile from our home a new business came to town, The Red Door Art Center. Copper Mabie is the owner, and instructor, oh what a beautiful artist she is, I have learned so very much. Some of my work has sold the first was a painting I did of a beautiful spot just out of Quinn Ireland in 2007. I will post some of my work soon. I will be back in Ireland this September and plan on taking many pictures to keep me busy painting for a long time. Have a wonderful day! sadelia

Mick and I are somewhat different in that our "art" comprises plaster statue restoration. Our normal statuary restoration is for church items, but often individuals ask for our help as well. Mick does structure and some painting and I do painting and some structure. We have also worked on wooden statuary, which is similar but with different materials. The paint is the same, however. I use Winsor & Newton, plus the Liquitex line. With some of their new products, I can't wait to get some new textures on the statuary. I have practice pieces here, so may just try my hand and see what I come up with!!
I want to try painting some contemporary canvases (my cartoons are just that - cartoons and not very good), so maybe I will get that chance this summer. Our light in the flat is excellent. Mick is extremely talented as a pencil sketch artist, watercolourist and working in acrylics and oils. I wish he would do castles again. We found his pastels the other evening, so perhaps????
