Another thought: Given that Arthur Guinness (1725 - 1803) didn't establish his brewery until the late 18th century... What did the local lift in these ancient pubs? Mead perhaps?

Ah Cacksy, but which of the 'Doctors' had a pint there and where did he leave the TARDIS?

I'm going to jump in here, too. Now mostly I'm a Galway City girl, but Dublin has a vibrant charm of its own. It's a very young city, young professionals, students, families and of course, tourists. I like the energy in Dublin and there is plenty to see and do. And some of the most charming B&B's are there as well. When Mick and I went on our first trip to Dublin as a married couple (on our honeymoon, of course), we encountered a lovely family home which had been transformed into a bed and breakfast. It was delightful to watch the children playing in the back garden while we had our breakfast. Best to book well in advance and check ratings and photos on web sites, if they are available.

Thanks Dub1 - Brian, for putting this group on the forum!

We have been to Dublin on two occasions each time brilliant, truly not enough hours in the day. And so many views to capture on camera...We hope to return for a longer stay sometime in the future.
I have alot more films waiting to find Dublins hidden 'Gems'..cheers Kate
