Hill of Tara , County Meath

The Hill of Tara in County Meath is supposedly the location where the High King of Ireland was chosen. Legend says that if you touched the Lia Fail standing stone and it cried out then you were the true High King of Ireland. The Hill of Tara was once the location for the residence of the High King of Ireland. All that remains are contours in the landscape that show there was a lot of activity in this location. St Patrick has influenced this hill and a statue of this saint can be seen on the hill as well as a church which houses a visitor center.
