Lough-an-Leagh Mountain and lakes are located between the towns of Kingscourt and Bailieborough.
Follow signs to Lough-an-Leagh from both towns.
Parking is available at top of the mountain near the main picnic area and Mass Rock.
There is a fairy fort to the right of the Mass Rock.
Lough-an-Leagh Mountain (1,119ft) is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
On a fine day it is possible to see 14 counties from the summit.
A number of surrounding lakes, such as Ervey and Greaghlone are well stocked with many species of coarse fish.
Kingscourt's Catholic Church, sitting on a ridge high above the town, displays excellent stained glass windows by the renowned Irish artist Evie Hone, who also provided designs for Eton College Chapel.
On a clear day Cuilcagh Mountain and the Ballyconnell windmills in West Cavan are visible.
To the East one can see the Irish Sea.
There is a picnic bench half way up to ease your limbs and a have a snack, taking in the awesome views and tranquility all around.
