Doon Castle, Offaly

Doon Castle now lies in ruins and is located 7 miles east of Clonmacnoise. On the doorway of the southeast corner of the building is a well-preserved Sheela-na-Gig, which appears to have been carved standing though she is built into the building on her side. Both her feet point in the same direction and one of her hands is place by her side while the other hand is placed on her inner thigh, and her mouth is wide open.
