Irish Diaspora Forum

I am not one to talk much about politics but last weekend Ireland held a forum to engage with the Irish business diaspora. It is hoped we can get ideas and support from successful Irish people from all around the world.

It probably is a good idea although I personally don’t think the likes of Bob Geldof should be telling us how to run the country and the likes of Denis O’Brien who supposedly dodged paying millions in tax by declaring himself a tax exile should be preaching to us.

It is hard to believe why Irish emigrants can be so successful yet we at home have managed to destroy our economy and parts of our heritage (Tara Valley).

We should focus on what advantages this country has. It is seen as a Green country so we should be leaders in Green Energy development, we should be saving our heritage, bogs etc and not destroying them. Tourism should be central to our development as it is sustainable and our natural resource.
